32nd Annual CARE ‘fore’ Children Golf Tournament Raises Over $44,000 for Local Children’s Programs

The 32nd Annual CARE ‘fore’ Children Golf Tournament, presented by Premier Sponsors Allegheny Bradford Corporation, the Kids and Cancer Benefit, the Philo & Sarah Blaisdell Foundation, and Zippo Manufacturing Company, was held on Sunday at the Pennhills Club in Bradford.
To date, the tournament has raised over $44,000, with proceeds benefiting CARE for Children’s free outreach services for children with developmental delays and disabilities. These services include pediatric developmental screenings, therapeutic recreation, and child safety initiatives aimed at preventing injuries and fatalities.
This year’s Course Sponsors included Brad Mangel – in memory of Sally Mangel, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Marshall Insurance Services, Inc. – Mick and Michele Marshall. Flight Sponsors were Emporium Food Market and Olean Food Barn, Gleason Construction, Greg and Cherie Booth – in memory of Ashley Booth Griffin, CNB Bank, Northwest Bank, and Pine Valley Nurseries.
Four generous donors served as 19th Hole Sponsors: The Italian American Progressive Club, Tyler R. Hannah, Attorney-at-Law, Luv Toyota, and Robert and Melanie Smith.
Fairway Sponsors included B & T Building Services, Inc., Doug and Lynne Kuntz, Tom and Kim Ball, Carlson Dental Associates, Dexter’s Service & Collision, and Ann Keane – in memory of Zachary Vigliotta, and Foster Brook Creamery – in memory of Brandon Paul Shurilla. In total, more than 220 businesses, donors, and organizations contributed sponsorships or in-kind donations of prizes and services to support the tournament. The tournament field featured 35 teams made up of 140 golfers.
“Each year the tournament raises thousands of dollars for free services for local children, including life-changing therapy, early learning, family support, and child safety programs,” said
Norm Strotman, CARE Board Member and Tournament Co-chair. “The tournament’s success would not be possible without the support of our golfers and volunteers; and CARE’s incredible community of sponsors.”
CARE for Children is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children of all abilities in McKean County and the surrounding region. Events like the annual golf tournament help make these vital services possible.
