‘Round the Square: August excitement
EXCITED: It’s August — are you getting excited for the fabulous events in McKean County during this back-to-school month?
It’s Festa Italiana in Bradford from Aug. 7th to 9th. The food, the live music, a “mobile rage trailer,” and usually something fun for the kiddies too.
The Mount Jewett Swedish Festival is Aug. 8th to 10th. Food and live music will be there, and so will caricature artist Eric Jones, a car show, a petting zoo, horse rides and more!
The McKean County Fair is planned for Aug. 10 to 16th, starting off with a Tractor Parade on Aug. 9 at 11 a.m. They’re trying to reach 100 tractors this year. Contact Marklyn Brown with any questions at 814-366-1456. Carnival rides, food, livestock and horse shows, motor sports, music and more are planned.
New this year is Kinzua Rocks the Wake at Kinzua Beach, Aug. 30, 31 and Sept. 1. It promises to be “an action-packed Labor Day weekend event at Kinzua Beach on the Allegheny Reservoir featuring championship level water ski aerobatics, jumps and stunts along with extreme jet ski and flyboarding and national touring music entertainment will also include comedy magicians and regional musicians on the Kinzua Beach stage.
“Get ready for unforgettable magic and endless laughter as comedy magicians kick off each event day at 12 p.m. on the Kinzua Beach stage with the beautiful Allegheny Reservoir serving as the backdrop. Be prepared to be amazed as audiences experience unique and energetic performances featuring jaw-dropping magic and illusions, and hilarious audience banter.”
National Night Out is Aug. 5. The Bradford Lions Club will be the site of the United Way’s Annual Pig Roast and Clam Bake Aug. 28.
