    Kenra Tyger

Kenra L. Tyger, 80, of 19 Prendergast Ave., passed away (Aug. 1, 2025) surrounded by her children, at the Bradford Manor.

Born Jan. 20, 1945, in Akron, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Cora McDonald Shepherd. Kenra was a 1963 graduate of Howard High School in Akron.

On July 30, 1966, in Bradford, she married Max O. Tyger Jr., who preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 2004.

Kenra was employed at Case Cutlery from 1968 to 1971. Then in 1973 she began working as the church secretary at First Presbyterian Church of Bradford until her death. She was a swim instructor at Callahan Park for the American Red Cross and the YMCA for many years. She was a former Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts of America.

Kenra enjoyed bowling in various leagues in Bradford and was a member of the WIBC. In her free time she enjoyed cross stitching, and attending her children and her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Surviving are two daughters, Melissa (Tim) Horneman of Lower Burrell and Yvonne (Jamison) Tilford of Bradford; one son, Kenneth (Amy) Tyger of Bradford; five grandchildren, Morgan (Caden Elwell) Tyger, Emma Tyger, Camryn Tilford and Gabe and Tabby; three sisters, Roberta (Guy) Shemwell, Rebecca (Joe Garne) Hiner, Pamela (the late Terry) Coleman; five brothers, Ben (the late Jan) Sheperd, Ramizi (Cathy) Shepherd, John Shepherd, Toby (Theresa) Shepherd and Kelly Shepherd; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her loving husband, Max, of 38 years, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Brad and Lloyd Shepherd; and one sister, Florence Carnes.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Rob Klouw, co-pastor, and the Rev. W. LeRoy Beckes, retired pastor, co-officiating. Burial will be in the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be to First Presbyterian Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are under direction of Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. Online condolences may be expressed at hollenbeckcahill.com.
