Center for Rural Pennsylvania announces interim executive director
HARRISBURG — Effective Friday, Dr. Laura R. Dimino is serving as the interim executive director of the Center for Rural Pennsylvania. Prior to this appointment, she served as the assistant director at the center since 2022.
The board of directors appointed Dimino to fill the vacancy created by the departure of the former executive director, Dr. Kyle C. Kopko, who accepted a new position as executive director of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania.
“I am honored to have been appointed to serve as interim executive director, and I am grateful to the board for their confidence in me to lead the center at this time,” said Dr. Laura R. Dimino. “I look forward to building on the center’s strong foundation, working closely with our board, the General Assembly, and our partners in rural communities across the commonwealth. I extend my appreciation to Dr. Kopko for his gracious commitment of time and support throughout the transition.”
Before joining the center, Dimino served as associate provost at Central Penn College, where she was also director of Institutional Assessment and Accreditation. She previously worked as a public affairs program analyst at the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency and as assistant director of academic programs at Temple University.
Dimino holds a doctorate and master’s degree in political science from the University of Rochester and a bachelor’s degree from Clark University.
