Preserving the past
The Annual Allegheny Mountain Engine and Implement Association Engine Show, always held the fourth weekend in July, staged its 47th edition July 25 to 27 at the AMEIA grounds along Route 155 South in Port Allegany. Shown, Jacob Kaziska conducts a blacksmith demonstration. AMEIA was formed to preserve the past for future generations to enjoy, representatives said. Five areas of interest include oil field apparatus, agriculture implements, lumber industry equipment, road building equipment and domestic items. The event included tractor parades, kiddie tractor pulls and a white elephant auction and concluded with a car show Sunday. AMEIA Board of Directors are Tim Garity Sr., president; Ilene Altenhein, vice president and secretary; Becky Naylor, treasurer; Matt Nichols, security; and directors Pete Fuller, Mike Naylor, Cheryl Smith, Tim Garity Jr. and DeWayne Werts. AMEIA representatives announced the annual Fall Harvest will be held at the show grounds from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 4.
