BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: Biegel Media telling local stories through a new lens
Nathan Biegel moved to Bradford last August and since then has been using his passion for storytelling through video to amplify the voices of local businesses and student athletes.
Originally from northwest Indiana, Biegel spent time in Philadelphia after college. There, he pursued his interest in sports videography, eventually landing a place working for the Philadelphia Eagles.
“Being in the city gave me the idea that there was a big need for commercial video outside of just sports,” said Biegel. “I started doing other types of events and realized how valuable video content could be for everyone, but especially for small businesses.”
Biegel Media began during his senior year of college in 2022 as a personal brand and way to share his work with a larger audience. After gaining experience filming sporting events and highlight reels, Biegel began picking up gig work across the city. He gradually shifted his focus from sports content to more community-based video projects.
Now based in Bradford, Biegel is on a mission to help small businesses and local athletes reach their full potential by elevating their digital presence in a meaningful yet affordable way.
“Video can be expensive and many small businesses just don’t have the resources for it,” he said. “I provide them with content that will help them grow, but won’t break the bank.”
Biegel has worked with businesses across the region, including a recent documentary-style project for Workforce Solutions of North Central Pennsylvania in St. Marys and a highlight reel for a Jamestown, N.Y.-area athlete filmed during a Pittsburgh tournament. He is also preparing to film content for a local nail salon.
“Highlight reels are kind of my specialty,” said Biegel.
He previously interned as a video coordinator at a sports program in Scotland, Pa. He describes it as some of his most satisfying work yet.
“We helped kids from 15 different countries get into good programs,” said Biegel. “It was incredibly rewarding to know that my work played a part in that.”
Eleven young athletes in the program were accepted into Division I schools, while 20 others went to schools across all other divisions.
Outside of video, Biegel has introduced another venture to get customers in the door at local businesses. He runs a sports and trading card vending machine service.
“It’s kind of like a mix between a gumball machine and a grab bag,” he explained.
Customers buy a token and receive a randomized pack of NBA, NFL, MLB or Pokémon cards. He has been taking his machines around to local businesses as a fun attraction.
“It’s just another way to get some feet in the doors of local businesses,” said Biegel.
Whether it’s video production or vending cards, Biegel’s work is rooted in the belief that creative tools should help move people and businesses forward.
“I love the artistry and craft in my work,” said Biegel. “I love how you can take a set of clips and arrange them in a million different ways to tell a new story each time.”
The cherry on top is knowing that he helped a small business grow or a local athlete get into a stellar program. He appreciates how welcoming the area is to small businesses and noted that Bradford is “a very welcoming place.”
“I love the people here and that community spirit everyone has,” said Biegel. “I can’t wait to contribute more to the area as my business continues to grow.”
