Drug Task Force arrests four in latest detail
SMETHPORT — The McKean County Drug Task Force arrested four people during the last five days, the conclusion of a lengthy investigation into area drug activity.
McKean County District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reported the arrests Monday afternoon, adding that the investigation continues and additional arrests are expected.
The task force’s net closed in Thursday, with the previously reported arrest of Katlyn Buterbaugh, 24, of 88 School St. in Bradford, residing just a few doors down from School Street Elementary School, at 76 School St.

Buterbaugh is charged with delivering methamphetamine over the course of several months. She was also charged with three counts of criminal use of a communication facility, third-degree felonies, for arranging the sales by cell phone. Court records note that a search warrant was executed at the residence following her arrest.
Buterbaugh was arraigned Thursday night before District Judge Rich Luther, and remanded to jail in lieu of $200,000 bail. She is scheduled for Central Court on Thursday.
Nateka Shugars
On Friday, task force detectives arrested Nateka Shugars of High Street in Bradford. She is charged with two counts of delivery of cocaine, felonies; two counts of possession, misdemeanors; and two counts of criminal use of a communication device, third-degree felonies. Shugars was also arraigned by Luther, who set bail at $250,000, and is also due in Central Court this week.
Brian Fitzpatrick
Other individuals arrested during this week’s detail were Brian Fitzpatrick of High Street and Guy Simmons of West Corydon Street. Fitzpatrick is charged with delivery of crack cocaine, possession and criminal use of a communication facility. Simmons is charged with delivery of methamphetamine; conspiracy to deliver meth, a felony; possession; and paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
Luther set Fitzpatrick’s bail at $75,000 and Simmons’ at $150,000.
