Crosby man charged with perjury
A Crosby man has been charged with perjury for allegedly lying during a license suspension hearing in McKean County Court.
Mark Spencer, 52, of Route 46 South, is charged with perjury, a third-degree felony; and false swearing, a second-degree misdemeanor.
According to the criminal complaint, on June 10 a hearing was held in McKean County Court for an incident involving Spencer. He was sworn in and under oath. During his testimony, he said troopers had never read him his legal rights regarding blood testing after an arrest for DUI. After being shown the form, Spencer testified that the trooper never read it to him, stating, “He did not read me that paper, and I remember everything about that night.” He said he was forced to sign a paper, but never signed anything relating to a blood draw.
After the hearing, the trooper reviewed footage of the arrest, which showed Spencer being read the form twice in the patrol car, both times on camera, the complaint stated.
Spencer was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Bill Todd and released on $10,000 unsecured bail. He is scheduled for Central Court on Aug. 7.
Bradford man jailed for alleged meth sale
A Bradford man is in McKean County Jail for allegedly selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant of the county’s drug task force.
Guy Simmons Jr., 49, of 53 W. Corydon St., is charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and conspiracy to deliver meth, both felonies; and possession of a controlled substance and of paraphernalia, misdemeanors.
On June 20, in the parking lot of Dunkin’ Donuts, Simmons delivered 3.5 grams of meth to a female in exchange for money. The female obtained the drug to deliver it to a confidential informant of the McKean County Drug Task Force, according to the criminal complaint.
On July 24, when Simmons was arrested, he was in possession of a glass pipe used to smoke or inhale controlled substances, the complaint indicated.
He was arraigned Thursday and jailed in lieu of $150,000 bail. He is scheduled for Central Court on July 31.
Bradford man jailed for alleged crack sale
Allegedly selling crack cocaine to a confidential informant of the McKean County Drug Task Force has landed a Bradford man in jail.
Brian Fitzpatrick, 54, of 38 High St., Apt. 3, is charged with possession with intent to deliver crack, a felony; possession, a misdemeanor; and criminal use of a communication facility, a third-degree felony.
According to the criminal complaint, on July 21 Fitzpatrick arranged a drug deal with an informant over a cell phone, met the informant in the city of Bradford, received $100 of recorded funds, left for several minutes and returned with 0.7 grams of crack.
Fitzpatrick was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Rich Luther and remanded to jail in lieu of $75,000 bail. He is scheduled for Central Court on Thursday.
