Buterbaugh jailed for alleged drug activity near elementary school
A School Street, Bradford, resident has been busted by the McKean County Drug Task Force for alleged drug activity near the elementary school — just a few doors down from her residence.
Katlyn Ann Marie Buterbaugh, 24, of 88 School St. — the elementary school is at 76 School St. — is charged with felony delivery and misdemeanor possession of 2.54 grams of methamphetamine on April 18, 2024, at the Choice Store on West Washington Street; felony delivery and misdemeanor possession of 1.62 grams of meth on Miller Street; and felony delivery and misdemeanor possession of 1.48 grams of meth on Linwood Avenue, all of which were controlled buys by the task force. She was also charged with three counts of criminal use of a communication facility, third-degree felonies, for arranging the sales by cell phone.
According to the criminal complaint, between April 18, 2024, and July 23, 2025, detectives with the task force were investigating drug activity originating from 88 School St., which police said is within the “School Zone near School Street Elementary School.” Over the course of the investigation, City of Bradford Police and detectives with the drug task force collected information to corroborate the reported drug activity, read the complaint, penned by Bradford City Police Chief Mike Ward.
“Patterns of drug trafficking were observed, implicating (Buterbaugh) as a primary suspect and resident” of the address, the complaint stated. Further investigation determined that Buterbaugh was “actively involved in trafficking methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl from 88 School St.,” which was identified as a hub “for illegal drug distribution within the Bradford community,” Ward noted.
He described the sales of meth at Choice, on Miller Street and at Linwood Avenue. Her residence being so close to the elementary school “exacerbates the severity and potential harm of her illicit activities,” Ward wrote.
Buterbaugh was arraigned Thursday night before District Judge Rich Luther, and remanded to jail in lieu of $200,000 bail. She is scheduled for Central Court on Thursday.
