Made in Bradford ’25 to celebrate local artisans, Zippo legacy, Case milestone

The Zippo/Case Museum & Flagship Store will host the annual, free to attend Made in Bradford Celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The family-friendly event will celebrate Zippo and W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co.’s rich history of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurialism that sparked a maker’s movement in and around Bradford.

The museum’s gates will open at 8 a.m. for early bird shoppers who wish to wait in line for the event’s limited edition Zippo lighters and Case knives that will officially go on sale when the museum opens its doors at 9 o’clock.

“In celebrating our third Made in Bradford event in 2025, we’re proud to have established a new tradition for Zippo and Case fans to share. In showcasing our area’s best creatives and doers, we shine a light on our hometown and the strong sense of pride that goes into their collective work. We are thrilled to extend invitations to all the new and returning makers for this year’s celebration,” said Halley Burnett, community manager for the Case Collectors Club.

This year’s specially prepared event collectables include a unique 100-piece Zippo lighter production that incorporates Zippo’s 540 Fusion art embellishing technique, along with two limited-production Case® Trapper knives (50 pieces each).

From 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., several of Zippo’s executives — George Duke, owner and chairman of the board; his son Grant Duke, co-owner; and Mark Paup, president and chief executive officer, will sign autographs during a special meet-and-greet session. Joining them will be renowned Case model maker Michael DuBois, whose Case career spanned more than 50 years of handcrafting knives in Bradford and earned him a spot on the company’s Wall of Fame.

The heart of the celebration will be the handiwork of dozens of local artisans and craftspeople that will be on display for sale from inside the makers’ tent. Notable Zippo and Case collectors will also be on hand to share stories while showcasing, swapping and selling from their extensive collections.

Activities for all ages will begin with bounce houses and inflatable games at 10 a.m., followed by a balloon artist, a caricature sketch artist, a face painting artist and a petting zoo at 11 a.m. Kids of all ages are invited to assemble a wooden knife by hand at the Case “Stay Sharp” truck and trailer from 11 a.m. to noon.

The Consumer Relations tent will offer free spins at the prize wheel and conduct a “Guess the Case Knife” game to win branded merchandise. Other activities, chances to win valuable prizes and giveaways will be announced throughout the event.

Food and drink vendors will be onsite throughout the day, including Napoli Pizza, Campers Kettle Corn, Wafull Wagon, Foster Brook Creamery and Little Mountain Winery. Local classic rock and roll band Pendleton Station will headline the event’s entertainment lineup.

A free trolley service will make rounds to pick up attendees throughout the parking areas surrounding the museum to the main gate starting at 9:30 a.m. Regular stops will be made from the Zippo fuel plant entrance, which will be opened to overflow parking, to points along Chestnut Street, Elm Street, and along South Avenue to the Masonic Temple building and back.
