Environmental education events set at Sizerville
EMPORIUM — Sizerville State Park has a series of environmental education programs scheduled for tJuly 26 and 27.
On July 26, the Film in the Forest: Beavers will be shown at 8 p.m. at the Campground Amphitheater. Come out to the amphitheater and learn about nature’s engineers, their ecological role, and their historical connection to Sizerville State Park. Short talk will be followed by a movie — feel free to bring snacks and a blanket.
At 1 p.m. July 27, a park educator will lead a stream study. Near Pavilion 3, the group will look for macroinvertebrates, like stoneflies and crayfish, in the stream, along with learning their importance. A short talk will be followed by exploring the stream – expect to get wet so bring along water shoes, swimsuits, and a towel.
