Leadership experts to share strategies at Olean summit
OLEAN, N.Y. — The 2025 Southern Tier Leadership Summit will begin at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 7 at the Cattaraugus County Campus of Jamestown Community College in Olean.
Hosted by Leadership Allegany and Leadership Cattaraugus, this year’s keynote speaker will be Tom Cullen, co-founder and CEO of RocketCup Coffee, as well as founding director of St. Bonaventure University’s Entrepreneurship Center and the Laine Business Accelerator.
Three additional speakers will share their expertise:
- Mark Voorhees, director of Project Operations at Mazza Mechanical Services of Olean, will discuss “Extreme Ownership and the Legacy Leaders Leave Behind for New and Upcoming Leaders.”
- The father-daughter duo of John Stevens and Dr. Brittany Thierman will share “Bringing the Magic to Management.” Stevens is a lecturer of Management at St. Bonaventure University and a business consultant. Thierman is an assistant professor of Marketing at Alfred University and a small business owner.
“We designed this summit not only to teach leadership, but to create a space where people can connect, grow, and leave feeling reenergized,” said Shauna Keesler, a Leadership Cattaraugus board member and chair of this year’s summit planning committee. “We’re excited to bring together experts like Tom Cullen and our esteemed speakers to foster leadership excellence in our community.”
The summit begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Cutco Theater with registration and networking, followed by the keynote address. The day will include additional speakers, breakout sessions and networking opportunities and ends at about 3 p.m. The cost is $50 and includes a light breakfast and lunch. Attendees are encouraged to bring business cards for networking and giveaways.
“This year we are wrapping up the day with a session focused on putting what we learned into practice, keeping the energy and growth going long after the day ends,” Keesler added.
