Venessa Watson
SMETHPORT — Venessa K. Watson, 61, of Smethport passed away unexpectedly Sunday (July 13, 2025) at her home.
She was born Dec. 7, 1963, in Sacramento, Calif., a daughter of Harold F. Miller and Juanita M. Sturdevant Bisnett. On Dec. 3, 2005, at Overcomer’s Church of Faith, she married Jonathan A. “Josh” Watson, who survives.
Mrs. Watson was a graduate of Smethport High School, class of 1982, and worked several jobs over the years. She was ultimately a homemaker, tending to the needs of her family.
She was a former supervisor and director of the McKean County Fair for several years and was an avid bowler. She was a volunteer at the Smethport Fire Hall and had been a cook and waitress for several establishments over the years. She also had worked with the SPCA.
In addition to her husband, Josh, she is survived by her mother, Juanita M. Bisnett of Smethport; sons Perry Lee (Nicole) Tanner Jr. of Smethport and Kenneth J. (Jess) Cleaveland of Mount Joy; daughters Rebecca L. Watson of Punxsutawney and Jessica L. Watson of Smethport; stepsons Jason C. (Sandy) Watson and Jonathan R. (Katie) Watson, both of Smethport, and James A. (Nicole) Watson of Bradford; many grandchildren; a brother, Jack A. Darrin of Smethport; stepbrother, Gregory Bisnett; one sister, Janice M. (Rick) Stanton of Portville, N.Y.; stepsister, Geanne (Larry) Curtin of Tallahassee, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Walter F. Miller; two stepbrothers and one stepsister.
There will be no visitation or services at this time. A celebration of Venessa’s life will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
