JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — Mary Jane Weaver Buchanan, 89, passed away peacefully Sunday (July 8, 2025) at home.

A graveside service will be held at a later date this year at Mount View Cemetery in Olean, N.Y.

Born March 26, 1936, she was a homemaker from Jacksonville, and formerly resided in Limestone, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William James Buchanan; her parents, James Franklin and Anna Lucinda Kline Weaver; and siblings, Ethel Gould, Shirley Confer, Pearl Sloan, Aletta Buchanan, Martha Bailey, Delsie Wingard, Jacob Weaver and Jim Weaver.

Survivors include her daughters, Judy (Terry) Hatch of Franklinton and Brenda Buchanan of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Lisa Hatch Moore of Johnsburg, Ill., Rachelle Hatch Drummond of Elon, Robert (Hayle) Hatch of Liberty, S.C., Jay Roche of Jacksonville and Jodie (Carl) Clarkston of Jacksonville; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Helen Miller of Lewis Run, Pa., Norma Lee of Bradford, Pa., and Linda (Jim) Barrett of Lewis Run; and several nieces and nephews.
