Betty Fralich
Betty Jane Johnsen Fralich, 88, of Bradford passed into the arms of Jesus on July 7, 2025, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by loved ones.
She was the wife of Charles “Chuck” Lawson Fralich for more than 33 years.
Born April 25, 1937, in Staten Island, N.Y., Betty was the eldest daughter of the late Arnold Russel Johnsen and Alice Bergquist Johnsen.
Betty honorably served her country in the U.S. Air Force, was retired as an operating room technician, and was a past member of Grace Lutheran Church in Bradford. Betty was active in her community and was a member of the Red Hat Society, McKean County Literary Club, Christian Women’s Society and Crook Farm Civil War Ladies.
Betty had a giving and adventurous spirit; she volunteered for numerous medical missions overseas including InterplastWV, providing reconstructive surgery to impoverished children overseas; and JAARS, providing Bible translation to reach the unreached worldwide.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Troy (Beth) Kisner of St. Albans, W.Va., and Karen (Jerry) Stanphill of Monroe, Va.; eight grandchildren, David (Marie), Brandi (Mike), Erik (Ellie), John (Ally), Michael, Taylor (Nouhaila), Nikki (Nathan), Matt (Kasey) and Michael (Lauren); seven great-grandchildren, Lucian, Blaise, Jameson, Paley, Keplar, Owen and Logan, to whom she was lovingly known as Gram the Great; her brother Warren (Barb) Johnsen; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheri Peery; two grandchildren, Manny Bendana and Reid Wood; and her sister Beverly Carpenter.
Betty’s green eyes sparkled as she shared her many stories of “in-laws, ex-laws and outlaws.”
A celebration of Betty’s Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church with Interim Pastor Barry Keurulainen officiating.
Interment with military honors will be held at a later date.
