CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced McCrae Brook Road (Route 1006) will close between Kings Run Road in Ceres Township and Route 446 in Eldred Township on Monday for a highway resurfacing project that will extend the service life of 4 miles of highway along this road and Route 219 in McKean County.

Traffic will follow a detour using Kings Run Road to Route 44, which drivers will follow across the New York-Pennsylvania state line. From there drivers will follow Route 417 and Route 305 back into Pennsylvania, where they will reconnect with McCrae Brook Road via Route 446. PennDOT expects this detour to be in place for approximately two weeks, but all work is weather-dependent.

Just over a tenth of a mile of Route 219 near the intersection of Route 770 in Bradford Township will also see work as part of this project. PennDOT will issue an update on potential traffic impacts before starting that work in August.

Work on this contract includes milling, leveling and resurfacing of the roadways, pavement marking and miscellaneous construction. IA Construction Corporation of Franklin is the contractor on the $744,000 project.
