CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that its Elk County Maintenance Organization will close Irishtown/Old Kersey Road (Route 2007) starting Monday for a two-day pipe replacement project.

Replacing the 78-inch pipe located approximately three-tenths of a mile west of the intersection with Fern Lane in Fox Township, Elk County, will help prepare the road for future resurfacing projects, PennDOT officials said.

While the road is closed, traffic will follow a detour using Route 255 and Route 948 back to Irishtown/Old Kersey Road. In the event of rain, PennDOT will begin the work Tuesday. Department forces will complete all work and expect to reopen the road by Wednesday, weather permitting.
