Arden Walker
KANE — Arden Walker, 81, of Birch Street passed away Wednesday (July 2, 2025) at UPMC Hamot.
Born March 13, 1944, in Kane, he was a son of the late Clarence and Dorothy Latshaw Walker. On March 20, 1965, he married Luella “Bonnie” Gustafson, who survives.
Mr. Walker served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1969 and spent 13 months in Vietnam. He had worked at Stackpole and Quality Markets and then for 30-plus years at National Fuel, from which he retired as a station mechanic in 2007.
He loved hunting, motorcycle riding (especially Harleys) and most of all his two dogs, Peaches and Peppy. He bowled and played horseshoes for many years and was a fire policeman for more than 35 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Lance (Patty) Walker of Vine Grove, Ky., and Doug (Aimee) Walker of Kane; seven grandchildren, Samantha Thackston, Ally Raikes, Dylan Walker, Jenna Walker, Cole Walker, Reese Walker and Bri Walker; and two great-grandchildren, Weston and Kade Raikes.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Wilfred Walker, Larry Walker, Lois Kearney, Mary Jean Carlson and Bernice Walker.
Friends were invited to attend a viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Cummings Funeral Home, where a funeral service immediately followed with the Rev. Calvin Cook officiating. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery.
