Highway resurfacing on Genesee Mills Road to start Monday
CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that a highway resurfacing project impacting Genesee Mills Road (Route 1010) in Genesee and Bingham townships in Potter County will begin Monday.
This project will improve ride quality and extend the service life of nearly 12 miles of roadway across three roads in Potter and McKean counties, PennDOT officials said.
While the contractor completes this work, the road will be closed between Route 244 and Bingham Center Road (Route 1013). Traffic will follow a detour using Route 244, Route 449, Winter Green Road (Route 1018), Hickox/Ulysses Road (Route 1011) and Bingham Center Road around the work zone.
PennDOT anticipates this detour will remain in place for approximately five days while the contractor completes the work. This schedule is weather-dependent.
Other roads that will see work as part of this contract include routes 646 and 4003 in Keating Township, McKean County. PennDOT will update drivers about potential traffic impacts before work starts at these locations.
Work on all three roads involves milling and resurfacing, pavement marking and other miscellaneous construction. Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College is the contractor for this $3 million project. PennDOT expects work at all three sites to finish by early October.
