Bradford Majors fall to DuBois, 8-0
BRLL dropped a 13-0 decision to the eventual champions on Saturday, but rebounded with a 6-4 victory to eliminate Punxsy at home Monday.
Traveling back to DuBois on Wednesday, BRLL battled the hosts in a 0-0 game until the bottom of the third inning. A few singles and an error in the field sent DuBois to a 5-0 lead after three.
The 2025 District 10 champions added another run in the fourth and two more in the fifth for the 8-0 win.
DuBois’ pitchers Landon Liddle and Jordan Lockett combined on a two-hitter. Liddle started and threw four and two-thirds innings. Lockett fired one and one-third in relief. Liddle struck out nine and walked three, while Lockett fanned two and surrended only one free pass.
Brock Crappio and Kaiden Christjohn managed Bradford’s only hits a single in the fifth and a base-hit in the sixth, respectively, while Jameis Furlong made contact and reached on an error in the second. The visitors’ only other baserunners drew walks, Eli Haynoski, Maddon Splain (two) and Teddy Henretta.
Splain started on the mound for BRLL. In two and two-thirds innings, No. 14 whiffed three while scattering three hits and four walks. In relief, Magnus Miller, Mason Haynoski and Bentlee Confer combined to allow five hits and walk three.
BRLL Head Coach Eric Haynoski said, “I would like to thank Coach (Noah) Christjohn and Coach (Matt) Splain for working alongside me to prepare these boys for stiff competition. Losing to DuBois was tough, but our boys have learned a lot along this journey that will only make them better.”
DuBois advances to the Section 1 tournament to be played July 12 to 16 in Fort LeBoeuf. Section 1 comprises districts 1, 3, 10 and 25.
“DuBois has a first-class program,” Coach Haynoski observed. “I anticipate seeing them compete for the state title.”
He continued, “I’m extremely proud of our boys. They put in countless hours and were able to knock off some great baseball teams along the way.
“These kids are proof,” he said, “that if you put in the hard work throughout the year, good things will happen. They are a great team.”
Four of BRLL’s 12 players on its 2025 roster age out of Little League this year — Otto-Eldred’s Kohen Pantuso and Magnus Miller, and Bradford’s Kaiden Christjohn and Eli Haynoski.
