Pirates fan makes plea with scoreboard message: ‘I’m sorry I kissed your sister’
(TNS) – The Pittsburgh Pirates allow for messages to be posted on the scoreboard at PNC Park to “commemorate a special occasion.”
For a $40 donation to benefit Pirates charities, you can wish a special someone a happy birthday, celebrate an anniversary and plenty of other options.
One fan recently used the scoreboard message to apologize to his significant other, or to have a little fun.
A message on the scoreboard this past weekend read: “Cheryl please take me back. I’m sorry I kissed your sister. – Tim.”
You can check out a picture of the scoreboard message below:
The post understandably went viral, although there is no way to confirm if there really is a Tim who is in a relationship with Cheryl who messed it up by kissing Cheryl’s sister, or if someone sent in the message in as a joke.
Either way, the message supports a good cause and gave everyone a laugh.
On the Pirates official website fans can purchase a message to be displayed on the scoreboard. Messages are displayed at the end of the fifth inning during every home game.
“There are a limited number of messages available each game, so order your scoreboard message today,” the website says.
Messages are shown on the right field wall, as well as the ribbon underneath the main scoreboard in left field. Messages cannot include obscene or offensive language, and they also can’t include the names of any MLB players.
The Pirates have had a rough season overall, although they have won four consecutive games and are now 36-50 on the year.
