More HGTV shows have been axed at the network. Is your favorite among them?
(TNS) — It seems as though “Married to Real Estate” isn’t the only show HGTV has placed on the chopping block.
If you’re a die-hard fan of the television network, you might feel slighted to know that the popular channel has axed three other shows.
Those shows are: Jonathan Knight’s “Farmhouse Fixer,” Izzy Battres’ “Izzy Does It” and Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas’ “Bargain Block.”
The unexpected news is coming from the shows’ stars, who took to Instagram to share the news.
Battres broke the news to a fan who had asked about a premiere date for season 2 for his show in his own comments, writing, “Unfortunately no Season 2.”
Fans then responded to his reply, expressing huge disappointment, as well as support for Battres.
“That’s awful!! Izzy, I really enjoyed your show!! HGTV is becoming more and more unappealing to me!! Maybe they will come to their senses and reconsider!!” one wrote.
As for Knight, in a post on Wednesday, he said he learned the news of his show not being renewed after three seasons while performing with New Kids on the Block in Las Vegas. Questioning the network’s decision, he shared that he was “still processing the reasons.”
Meanwhile, Bynum’s Instagram post criticized the network’s decision to cancel his show.
“The last six months have been a pretty wild journey. Our entire business and lives have been put through the ringer at the hands of a giant corporation, yet we persist lol,” he wrote. He also went on to add that, “TV is full of a lot of great people but it’s also full of some of the worst people I’ve ever encountered.”
Even though all hosts expressed gratitude to fans when breaking the difficult news, they’ve also expressed confusion as to why their shows were cancelled.
Fans were equally upset and have flocked to Reddit’s r/HGTV to express their frustrations.
“I am devastated. ‘Farmhouse Fixer’ was one of my favorites. They will come to realize their mistake,” one fan wrote.
“At this point they’ve cancelled so many shows that I’m very interested to know exactly what the plan is. I have to assume they’ve got things in mind to replace these and not just more house hunters,” another fan wrote.
“@HGTV This sucks!” a fan simply chimed in.
“What is left on HGTV after all these cancellations?” another asked.
“Have we tried unplugging HGTV and plugging it back in?” one fan quipped.
