Richard Henderson
SEBRING, Fla. — Richard Allen Henderson, of Sebring passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the age of 84.
Dick was born Sept. 2, 1940, in Bradford, Pa., to the late Rex and Grace Henderson.
Dick was an avid golfer who bagged two holes-in-one, his most recent at the age of 82 on the 11th hole at the Country Club of Sebring. When he wasn’t on the golf course, you could find him spending time with his family and his beloved fur babies. He was an excellent athlete who was a dedicated Boston sports fan. His favorite teams included the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics. Dick loved country music and was a huge fan of rock and roll. He was especially fond of the Righteous Brothers.
After many years in the transportation industry, he was known for his work ethic and finished his career as a supervisor with the priority mail center at the USPS. Dick developed a reputation as a fair and reasonable supervisor.
Dick was a very loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was disciplined and placed importance on looking his best. Dick also had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Julie Henderson of Sebring; his son, Mark (Kathleen) Henderson of Hampton, N.H.; his brother Robert (Anne) Henderson of Sebring; and his two grandchildren, Sydney Henderson and Alexandria Henderson; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Rex Henderson Jr.
