Armanini posts Elk County impact fees
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Mike Armanini, R-DuBois, announced Elk County and the municipalities of Clearfield County within the 75th Legislative District will receive a combined sum of more than $1 million in impact fees from the natural gas industry.
“Impact fees provide an economic stimulus to communities affected by natural gas drilling,” said Armanini. “These funds assist our municipal governments with many critical projects, such as road and bridge repairs. I am happy to share that the 75th District is receiving such a substantial amount of funding through these fees.”
Impact fee disbursements were established in 2012 and are distributed through the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC). For more information and a complete list of disbursements to counties and municipalities across the commonwealth, visit the PUC’s website at puc.pa.gov.
The following municipalities in Elk County received a total of more than $900,000 in impact fees, led by Jones Township at $449,502, St. Marys City at $160,656, Fox Township at $62,681, Jay Township at $42,712 and Horton Township at $40,975.
Rounding out the list were Ridgway Borough, $34,342; Ridgway Township, $32,535; Highland Township, $29,071; Johnsonburg Borough, $20,914; Millstone Township, $13,283; Spring Creek Township, $12,413; and Benezette Township, $7,734.
