‘Round the Square: Look forward to that walk to the mailbox?
MAIL: Are you a low-tech person in a high-tech world? Is that walk to the mailbox something you look forward to?
The Eldred World War II Museum has a way to bring good, old fashioned mail right to your mailbox with War Stories V-mail.
It’s a new subscription service that sends you a veteran’s story once a month. Get a real letter in the mail every month and learn about history through a veteran’s personal story. Visit warstoriesvmail.com for more information or to sign up.
“In our ever changing digital world, (the museum) brings back the excitement of receiving a real letter in the mail. Designed for the history lover, these V-Mail letters of true WWII stories bring the personal experiences of the WWII generation to your mailbox,” officials explained.
“Each month open your mailbox to find an envelope filled with a true and personal WWII Veteran story, and a variety of replica historic papers, including: maps, news articles, postcards, government documents and pictures.
“You’ll learn the personal details of individual WWII veterans stories told by their families and sometimes in their own words. Get their personal insights, feelings and details of what they experienced. Travel to the European theater, the Pacific, Africa, and all that WWII encompassed including stories from the Holocaust and the home front in America.”
You’ll learn about WWII through the true stories of real people who experienced it.
There are three levels for subscriptions, $12 for a month, $72 for 6 months and $132 for 12 months. The subscriptions automatically renew, but can be canceled at any time. Letters are mailed on the 10th of each month.
Sounds like a great gift for history or military buffs.
