Ramblers 8U rally to defeat Thunder Chickens
WARREN — The Bradford Ramblers 8U baseball team kicked off their season with an exciting come-from-behind win on Saturday, edging the Allegheny Thunder Chickens 8-7 in a thrilling road matchup.
Down by two runs heading into the final inning, the Ramblers delivered under pressure. Brooks Barber, Sawyer Priest, and Ryan Breese each singled to load the bases. Bryce Yohe and Liam Bell followed with RBI hits to tie the game, and Luke Frank came through with the go-ahead RBI to put Bradford up 8-7.
In the bottom of the inning, the Thunder Chickens threatened to rally, but Barber shut the door with a game-ending double play to secure the victory.
Offensively, Bradford was led by Barber and Yohe, who each went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. Breese, Priest, and Frank all went 3-for-4, contributing to the Ramblers’ strong day at bat.
For the Thunder Chickens, Phoenix Luvison was a standout, going 3-for-3, while Brendon Zapel turned in a solid 3-for-4 performance.
The Ramblers return to action this Sunday as they host a home tournament at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, with games starting at 10:00 a.m.
