Port Area Ambulance Service is celebrating 50 years of service to the community. First established in 1975, the service provides life-saving advanced and basic life support emergency medical services to Port Allegany, Smethport and surrounding townships. A community milestone anniversary celebration was held this past weekend on the town square in Port Allegany. State Rep. Martin Causer, R-Turtlepoint, presented a congratulatory citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, to honor and express gratitude to PAAS’ members for the life-saving care they provide to the community.
