Nancy J. Dixon, 88, of Bradford passed away Wednesday (June 11, 2025) at Bradford Manor.

She was born May 12, 1937, in Bradford, a daughter of the late Alvie and Mary Barrile Merritt.

She was a 1955 graduate of Bradford Area High School.

On Oct. 8, 1955, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, she married Melvin D. Dixon, who preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 2022.

Nancy was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. She always looked forward to her weekly Sunday breakfast trips to the Derrick City Diner and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was employed by the former Bradford Laundry on Langmaid Lane for many years until her retirement.

She is survived by two daughters, Patty (Dave) Vecellio of Bradford and Betty (Marvin) Woodley of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one son, David (Ruth) Dixon of Bradford; five grandchildren, Heather (Adam) Seaborn, Kimberly (James) Whitehead, Tina (Jeff) Noble, Michael (Bridget) Dixon and Douglas Dixon; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Rose Carpenter; and two brothers, Tom Merritt and Benny Merritt.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (June 25, 2025) at Mascho Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Edward Walk, senior associate pastor of St. Bernard Catholic Church, officiating.

Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.
