Local organizations receive grants for America 250PA
America250PA has announced recipients of the second round of its Semiquincentennial Grants, which include funds for the Bradford Area Alliance and Lumber Heritage Region.
A total of $510,000 was awarded to 44 organizations across 35 counties in the Commonwealth.
These grants help bring educational, civic, and celebratory events to life across Pennsylvania as we prepare to mark America’s 250th birthday in 2026.
This spring’s application round was even more competitive than the first, with more than 440 applications submitted and over $6 million in total funding requested. Each project reflects the imagination, heart, and sense of shared purpose that Pennsylvanians are bringing to this once-in-a-generation celebration.
Bradford Area Alliance was awarded $20,000 for McKean County celebrations of America250PA.
Lumber Heritage Region of Pennsylvania Inc. was awarded $10,000 for Pennsylvania’s Lumber Heritage Quests: Celebrating America 250.
“It’s exciting to see so many Pennsylvania communities and organizations stepping up with meaningful, engaging, and inspiring projects as we approach the Semiquincentennial,” said Cassandra Coleman, executive director of America250PA. “These grants are giving Pennsylvanians the tools to come together, remember where we’ve been, and imagine what comes next. America250PA is incredibly proud to support this work, and grateful to Governor Shapiro and the General Assembly for making it possible.”
With that support from Governor Josh Shapiro and the Pennsylvania General Assembly, America250PA has now awarded a total of $1 million in Semiquincentennial Grants to 77 organizations across 43 counties in Pennsylvania.
