Runyan Scholarship winners announced
VFW Post 212 and Frances Sherman VFW Auxiliary announced its 2025 Reba Y. Maben & William “Mr. Bill” Runyan Scholarship winners are Evan D. Confer and Allison Ditzenberger.
Confer, a senior at Bradford Area High School, is the son of Dan and Joy Confer and Beckie and Fred Feightner. An honor student, he also works part time at Bradford Ecumenical Home and has worked as a skate guard at Callahan Ice Rink. He plays with the Bradford Blizzard Youth Hockey Club and Bradford United Soccer Club and has participated in the Willow Creek Triathlon.
Evan Confer
Confer has volunteered at the Bradford Public Library and West Branch Church and organized a donation drive for the Erie VA Medical Center. He will attend Pitt-Bradford to study secondary education/social studies. He was sponsored by his grandfather, Donny Godding.
Allison Ditzenberger, a senior at North Hills High School, was sponsored by her grandfather, Rick Peroginelli. She is the daughter of Dennis Ditzenberger and Gina Ditzenberger.

She has been involved in high school lacrosse and is a member of National Technical Honor Society at A.W. Beattie Career Center. In her spare time she likes hanging out with friends. Her goal is to become a licensed veterinary technician and will attend PennWest California to major in veterinary technology.
The awards were presented Monday in the VFW Post 212 club rooms. The scholarship is funded by an annual golf tournament. Entrants must be next of kin to a post, auxiliary or social member in good standing, be a graduating senior of said year and accepted at a college, university or vocational school.
