Robert Means
SEMINOLE, Fla. — Robert “Bob” L. Means, 79, of Largo slipped peacefully away to be with his Lord and Savior on June 10, 2025.
Born Kane, Pa., on March 10, 1946, Bob made his way to Seminole in 1984, where he spent the remainder of his life. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967.
Bob dedicated more than 20 years of his working life as a press operator for the St. Petersburg Times. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted member of Suncoast Community Church, where his voice was often heard in song, sharing his love for music and his Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Yvonne Means; his former wife, Carol Swackhammer Means; one brother; and one sister.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Webb Means; two daughters, Melissa (Matthew) Robertson and Allison (John) Butler of Coats, N.C.; a stepson, Chris (Lynn) Webb of Largo; four cherished grandchildren, Ashley Butler, Connor Butler, Melia Webb and Makena Webb; and three sisters, Ruby Backer of Bradford, Pa., Emma Schillinger of Portland, N.Y., and Minerva Haight of Bradford.
Bob will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was the ultimate role model to his family — creative, hardworking, thoughtful and always full of life. His joyful whistle often announced his presence before he entered a room, and his warm spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral arrangements are under direction of Mohn Funeral Home.
