Glimpse of gold
While leading a photography walk in the wetlands area near Red House Lake as part of the Allegany State Park Nature Pilgrimage, Era photographer Wade Aiken was able to show those attending this yellow warbler peeking its head out of its nest. Yellow warblers are known for their sweet, whistled songs and are often spotted in shrubs and small trees where they forage for insects.. They build their deep, cuplike nests with grasses, strips of bark and spider webs. See an additional photo from the pilgrimage inside today’s edition.
