Juvenile charged with Port A. arson
A 14-year-old male from Mount Jewett has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police for an alleged arson in Port Allegany.
According to Lewis Run-based state police, at 1:15 p.m. May 30, on North Main Street in Port Allegany Borough, the juvenile, who was living there, intentionally ignited items on the front porch of the residence.
Police said the Port Allegany fire department, Star Hose Co., had requested the assistance of a fire marshal to determine the cause of the fire that had damaged the porch. The juvenile was found to be at fault, and charges will be filed through the McKean County District Attorney’s office, police said.
The fire marshal was assisted on the scene by Star Hose Co. and the Port Allegany Police Department.
