Bureau program funds tourism marketing, events
The Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau announced another Marketing Project and Event Marketing Program for 2025.
This program will fund eligible projects and events through December. Since its inception in summer 2024, the Marketing and Event Grant Program has supported 25 events and marketing initiatives in McKean County totaling $40,000.
The bureau’s semi-annual grant program aims to fund qualified McKean County organizations and businesses to strengthen tourism offerings; increase the marketing, promotion and advertising of tourism-related business; and enhance the quality of events.
“The landscape of destination marketing has changed in recent years, and it is important we be intimately involved with our tourism partners for McKean County to flourish and to create unforgettable experiences,” said Rustin Lippincott, Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau executive director. “This grant program is an excellent opportunity to support our tourism partners and enhance our product through additional marketing, attraction development and expanding the quality and reach of our signature events.”
The grant program leverages the bureau’s marketing resources to create awareness, provide visitors with information to influence their travel decisions, increase visitation to McKean County and enhance the quality and expand the type of events across the county.
The grant program reimburses eligible costs up to $2,500 with a 50% required match. Completed applications are due by June 30 for events occurring through Dec. 31.

Tourism-related businesses, organizations, nonprofit groups and events based or doing business in McKean County are eligible. Preference will be given to ANFVB members. Applications and additional grant information are available at PATrailCentral.com and at the ANFVB Office, 80 E. Corydon St.

Tourism is a $183.9 million industry in McKean County, according to the 2023 report from the Pennsylvania Office of Tourism, an increase of $11.3 million from the previous year. The largest portion of revenue comes from transportation, food and beverage and recreation related expenditures. More than 1,200 jobs are supported by visitor spending in McKean County, generating $39.3 million in labor income.
