Little League Wrap: Cubs, Braves claim wins
Sherk’s Landscaping Cubs beat Yeagermeister Disposal Braves The Cubs claimed an 8-2 victory over the Braves Friday.
Leading the Cubs at the plate were: Gary Reid (singled and scored two runs), Nick Popiel (singled, had a run and an RBI), Blake Sherk (single, two RBI’s and a run), Dre Skaggs (2-for-3), Jeremiah Seastrunk (single and an RBI), Emmet Speaker (doubled and scored a run), Gage Peranio (singled, RBI), Leland Hixenbaugh (2-for-2, scored a run), Vincent Rajakumar (single, RBI), Gideon Corah (single) and Ryan Angell (2-for-2, RBI, run).
For the Braves, Evan Luna had a single and a run; Gage Brinsky went 2-for-3 and an RBI; Jack Cannon with a double and a run and Asa Johnson with a single and an RBI.
Coudy Purple beats Bradford Zippo Phillies Coudy Purple had a four-run first inning en route to a 15-11 win over the Phillies Monday.
Bradley Stilson earned the win for Coudy Purple. The pitcher gave up two hits and struck out five, walking three.
Miles Bundy took the loss for Bradford Zippo Phillies. The right-handed pitcher went one inning, allowed six runs on four hits, striking out none and walking one.
For the Phillies, Cooper Burns collected three hits in five at bats, Bundy had three RBIs while Jack Peterson collected two hits in two at bats.
Thomas McClintic went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Coudy Purple in hits with two triples and a double, knocking in three RBIs; Stilson had a double and Logan Jackson collected two hits for Coudy Purple in four at bats, including a double.
YeagerMeister Braves defeated the KOA Speer Indians In a recent game, the Braves claimed a 14-10 win over the Indians.
For YeagerMeister Disposal, Gage Brinsky went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a triple; Jack Cannon went 3-for-3 with three doubles; Bryce Crappio and Evan Luna each recorded a double and a single; Asa Johnson recorded a double; and Lucas and Landon Lowe each had singles.
For KOA Speers, Cole Bennett recorded a double and Brecken Placer had two singles.
The Braves also claimed wins over the Royals recently, with scores of 6-4 and 3-1.
For the Braves in each of the two games, Jack Cannon led at the plate, smacking a double. Smethport defeats Bradford WR Case Water Buffaloes Smethport took home a 9-4 win over the Water Buffaloes Monday.
Leading Smethport at the plate was G Line with two RBIs.
Sharing mound duties for Smethport were C Jacoby and C Gustafson, combining to strike out five, walk six and give up nine hits.
On the mound for the Water Buffaloes were Evan Cook, Porter Gilligan, Josh Woodhouse and Jacob Warfield, who struck out three, walked 11 and gave up six hits.
Derrick Dixon had two RBIs for Bradford.
Machine Pitch ARG defeats Otto Eldred ELDRED — ARG picked up another win this week, shutting out Otto-Eldred 3-0 in machine pitch baseball.
Easten Groce and Sawyer Priest led the way for ARG, each going 2-for-2 at the plate and scoring a run. Ryan Breese chipped in with a hit and crossed the plate as well. Liam Bell added an RBI.
Otto-Eldred’s Tyler Davis was 2-for-2 on the night.
ARG remains unbeaten in league play.
