Free programs at area parks
The Kinzua Bridge State Park complex will host programs during the upcoming weekends.
First up is Tick Talk, set for noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Bendigo State Park. Join staff near the pool and picnic area and learn how to keep safe from ticks while outdoors this summer. Kids can enjoy coloring pages and a game to learn tips and tricks for avoiding tick bites.
Kinzua Bridge State Park will host an event at noon June 7 for National Trails Day. Join staff to hike along the General Kane Trail to look for signs of nature and the area’s ecosystem.
Wear appropriate footwear and meet in the overflow parking area.
Then at 11 a.m. June 8, KBSP will host a scavenger hunt. Participants will be given a sheet of items and released to explore the park for the items on the list. Some will be outside, and some will be inside.
For an accommodation to participate in park activities due to a disability, contact the park you plan to visit.
