The Lumber Heritage Region (LHR) continues to be a bridge between the past and the future, using new technologies to teach users about the rich culture of Pennsylvania’s legendary lumber industry. The group has recently launched its own app and a new website. Both techy tools are designed to enhance each user’s experience as they learn more about the region’s storied past.
The Lumber Heritage Trail Mobile App aims to provide users with an enriched experience, making it easier than ever to deep dive into the history of the famous lumber industry. It offers an immersive journey through the 15-county Lumber Heritage Region, and is available on iOS and Android platforms.
The app blends historical insights with modern travel conveniences. It highlights the region’s natural beauty and historic significance, offering users a unique way to connect with Pennsylvania’s lumber heritage. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, outdoor adventurer or curious traveler, the app provides a comprehensive guide to the region’s offerings.
The LHR, which spans 4.2 million acres, has also launched a new website, lumberheritage. org, designed to provide visitors with an immersive and informative experience. There are a host of new features and enhancements that will optimize performance, making it easier for visitors to plan their trips and explore the region’s rich heritage, culture and the past, present and future of the forest products industry.
“Our new website is a testament to our commitment to providing visitors with the best possible experience,” said Jennifer Weld, LHR project manager. “We’ve listened to feedback from our visitors and stakeholders and have developed a website that is user-friendly, informative and engaging.”
The clean, modern look of the new website makes it easy to navigate. With a few clicks, visitors can easily find information about the region’s attractions, events, accommodations and the heritage of the forest products industry.
There is even an interactive map that allows users to explore the region and plan the itinerary for their next adventure.
The website has been optimized for performance, meaning it now loads faster and is more responsive, even on mobile devices. The website is also now fully accessible, ensuring that all visitors can have a positive experience.
“We’re confident that our new website will be a valuable resource for visitors and stakeholders alike,” said Holly Komonczi, executive director. “We encourage everyone to visit the website and explore all that the Lumber Heritage Region has to offer, including its rich heritage and the ongoing importance of the forest products industry.”
