Elizabeth Plotts
PORT ALLEGANY — Elizabeth “Betty” Plotts of Coudersport, formerly of Port Allegany, passed away on Memorial Day (May 26, 2025) at Sweden Valley Manor.
Born Jan. 25, 1934, in Matoaca, Va., she was the daughter of Edwin E. and Marjorie Perkins Long. On Nov. 27, 1952, she married Robert Klesa, who passed away July 19, 1954. On July 23, 1955, she married James Plotts, who survives her.
Betty was a graduate of Coudersport High School. In 1952 she worked as a phone operator for Bell Telephone.
Betty was a very devoted church member. She attended Coudersport Alliance Church and Port Allegany Alliance Church. She taught Sunday school for many years.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, James Kenny (Susan) Klesa and Stephen (Judy) Plotts; seven grandchildren, James R. “Jim” (Dee) Klesa, Casey Klesa, Brandy (Carl) Lunger, Hila (Brian) Breisch, Scott (Amber) Easton, Lilly Klesa and Victoria Klesa; 11 great-grandchildren, Leona (Tyler) Lawrence, Megan (Adinn) Kellert, Mason Klesa (McKenna Putman), Garrett Lunger, Clara Lunger, Jenica Breisch, Jade Breisch, Carter Risser, Clara Risser, William Risser and Jack Easton; three great-great-grandchildren, Aurora Kellert, Eloise Kellert and, soon to arrive, Mallory Kellert; plus the many people who have thought of her as their grandma and even called her “Grandma”; several nieces and nephews; one brother, Robert Long; and one aunt, Jane Crowell.
In addition to her first husband, Robert Klesa, Betty was predeceased by her parents, Edwin E. and Marjorie Long; a sister, Lucy Gould; and a grandson, Jonathan Goerner.
Betty was a vibrant, loving woman. She brought a smile to all those around her. She loved spending time with family and friends. She loved everything from going on vacations, picnics and campfires to a simple visit with a cup of coffee. It didn’t matter what she was doing, she found joy in everything she did. She loved having fun! She lived an amazing life and the world will not be the same without her!
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday (May 30, 2025) at Port Allegany Alliance Church. Then at 10 a.m. Saturday (May 31, 2025) there will be visitation with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m. at Coudersport Alliance Church. Burial will be in Eulalia Cemetery immediately after the funeral.
