Maxx DeYoe and Henry Chamberlin of Portville; Isaac Towne of Franklinville; Kruz Coustenis and Zach Trietley of Salamanca; Ryan Metzger of Ellicottville; D.J. Szata of Cattaraugus Little Valley; Shea Smith of Franklinville; Trent Casselman of Southwestern; and Gavin Straub of Allegany-Limestone.

    Read more about each below:

    Maxx DeYoe

    Portville Central High School

    Height: 5’9” – Weight: 160 lbs.

    Offense: RB – Defense: LB

Maxx, at this point in time, is not sure what he wants to do after graduation. His honors and awards are Team All-Star LB twice, MVP, Athlete of the Month, High Honor Roll, and Section VI 4th place finisher at State Qualifier for Wrestling twice at 138 pounds. Maxx wants to play in the Big 30 game because that was his goal all season. His Father and Uncle also played in it. Maxx’s best memory while playing football was beating Chautauqua Lake to enable his team to play at Highmark Stadium. His hobbies include going to the gym, playing video games, and hanging out with his friends. His favorite football team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite football player is Bo Jackson.

    Isaac Towne

    Franklinville High School

    Height: 6’2” – Weight: 225 lbs.

    Offense: Q – Defense: LB

Isaac’s plans after graduation are to attend Alfred State College to get a Degree in Business Management, while continuing his football career. The awards he has received are Offensive Player of the Year, All State Defense (football), Defensive Player of the Year (basketball), and Offensive Player of the Year (baseball). He wants to play in the Big 30 game because he sees it as an honor to represent his team and New York, while playing a game he loves. It would also give him a chance to play a final game with his boys. Isaac’s best memory while playing football was running out of the tunnel at the Bills Stadium with the teammates he grew up with. His hobbies are lifting weights, hunting, fishing, and playing any sport. His favorite football team is Notre Dame and his favorite player is George Kittle.

    Kruz Coustenis

    Salamanca High School

    Height: 6’1” – Weight: 185 lbs.

    Offense: C – Defense: DT

Kruz plans to attend Jamestown Community College to major in Physical Education and then go to Brockport to finish his degree. He wants to be a teacher and a coach. His awards and honors are the Kyle Scott Whistleman Award and Honor Roll. Kruz wants to play in the Big 30 game because he says he is honored to be chosen for such an awesome event. His best memory playing football was beating Chenango Forks and earning a trip to the State Championship. Kruz said his hobbies are skiing, hockey, playing drums, hiking, and playing guitar. His favorite football team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite player is James Cook.

    Ryan Metzger

    Height: 6’3” – Weight: 270 lbs.

    Offense: G – Defense: T

Ryan plans to attend college for Adolescent Education to become a teacher and a football coach. He was the team captain for his football and basketball teams. He wants to play in the Big 30 game because, for years, he has felt as if he could be a great player. He

lacked self-confidence but being selected for this honor has proven to himself and his coaches that he can be the player they always knew he could be. Ryan’s best memory while playing football was being able to play at Highmark Stadium for two sectional games and being captain at one of them. Ryan’s hobbies include photography, history, playing football, basketball, and track. His favorite football team is the Buffalo Bills and his favorite player is Spencer Brown.

    Henry Chamberlin

    Portville Central School

    Height: 5’10” – Weight: 215 lbs.

His awards include Defensive Player of the Year, Scholar Athlete, Big 30 recognition for Football and Wrestling, Week 9 Trench Trophy Athlete of the Month for Football and Wrestling, and Week 9 Trench Trophy Athlete of the Month for Football and Wrestling. Henry wants to play in the Big 30 game because it has been a dream of his since playing in the Little Big 30 game. His best memory while playing football was playing at Highmark Stadium for a sectional title in his senior year. Henry’s  hobbies are playing sports, shooting trap, and riding ATVs and motorcycles. His favorite football team is the Buffalo Bills and his favorite player is Josh Allen.

    D.J. Szata

    Cattaraugus Little Valley Central School

He said that the Big 30 game is like the Pro Bowl of high school football. His Father was chosen to play in the Big 30 game but he was injured during a Big 30 practice. He wants to be the Szata who plays in the game so he can honor his Father. His Dad is proud to see him be a second generation pick for the game. D.J.’s best football memory was his team ending a 24-game losing streak by running over Cardinal O’Hara. He received the WNY Football Reports Player of the Game with 13 carries, 113 yards, and 4 touchdowns. His hobbies are weightlifting, fishing, basketball, and baseball. His favorite football team is the Buffalo Bills and his favorite player is Josh Allen.

Shea plans to attend Buffalo State for English Education and to, hopefully, play football. His honors include being a member of the National Honor Society, National Senior Honor Society, and High Honor Roll in all grades. Shea wants to play in the Big 30 game to represent his team and state. He also wants to put his skills out there for his coaches at Buffalo State to see. His best football memory was going to Highmark Stadium for the Sectional Championship. Even though his team lost, the experience for him was unforgettable. His favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    Trent Casselman

    Southwestern High School

    Height: 6’2” – Weight:165 lbs.

    Offense: WR – Defense: C

After graduation, Trent plans to attend Jamestown Community College. He was awarded

the Southwestern Leadership Award and was on the Honor Roll. Trent wants to play in the Big 30 game because it is an opportunity that not everybody gets. He wants to take advantage of that opportunity. Trent’s best football memory was winning the championship game with his friends in midget league. His hobbies include working out, playing football, track, hunting, fishing, and playing video games. His favorite team is the Kansas City Chiefs and his favorite player is Trent McDuffie

    Gavin Straub

    Allegany-Limestone High School

    Height: 6′ 4” – Weight: 185 lbs.

Offense: WR, K – Defense: DE

Gavin wants to play football in college and major in Business. He was on the High Honor Roll. He was also the Team Captain for Football, Defensive Player of the Year, Student Athlete of the Month, and won the IAABO Classic Joe DeCerbo Sportsmanship Award in Varsity Basketball. Offense: FB – Defense: MLB

Zach’s future plans are to attend Allegheny College to attain a Business degree. While attending Salamanca, he was ranked in the top ten of his class, ranked twice as the First Team All State Linebacker, and twice named NY Class C-South Defensive Player of the Year. Zach has always watched the upperclassmen play in the Big 30 game and it has motivated him to be a part of this Big 30 game. Zach’s best memory while playing football was going to the New York State Championships in Syracuse. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and lifting. Zach’s favorite football team is the Buffalo Bills and his favorite player is Ray Lewis.
