Several Elk County factories donated funds toward equipping a school resource officer for St. Marys Area School District. Blue Water Thermal, Speer Carbon and Penn United donated $1,150 for body armor, a ballistic carrier and trauma plate to SMASD School Police Officer Catrina Shaffer, who is based primarily at the middle school.
