Warren family establishes business fund at Pitt-Bradford

Warren residents John and Cindy Jarzab and their daughter, Christine Jarzab Kuntz, have endowed a new fund at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford that will help the university’s business management and accounting students.

The Jarzab Family Business Fund will support the faculty and students in the business management program by sponsoring opportunities that enhance the education experience, such as guest speakers, student and faculty projects, field trips, conference registration fees, and the purchase of technology and related.

“We gave this money because I’d like to see students have opportunities,” John Jarzab said. “I have always been a fan of Pitt-Bradford.” Jarzab, who taught accounting in Pitt-Bradford in the 1990s as an adjunct faculty member, noted that the university serves North Central Pennsylvania and provides many students with an education that will lift their families economically. “That’s what I liked about teaching. When you teach people, you give them the tools they need to make them successful.”

John Jarzab, a certified public accountant, and Kuntz, an attorney specializing in nonprofit law, also plan to make themselves available as guest speakers for business classes.

John Jarzab earned his Master of Business Administration at the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz School of Business. Kuntz works primarily with health care organizations and holds three degrees from Pitt, a Bachelor of Science ’00 (biology), a Master of Public Health ’04 and a Juris Doctor ’04.

For more information on specific-use funds at Pitt-Bradford, contact the university’s Office of Philanthropic and Alumni Engagement at (814) 362-5091 or visit upb.pitt.edu/giving.
