Penn State football officially announced a few key transfer portal acquisitions and a 2025 class signee Tuesday morning.
Transfers Trebor Peña and Amare Campbell and incoming freshman Daniel Jennings were added to Penn State’s roster.
Campbell (6-0, 230) comes to the Nittany Lions from North Carolina where he played two seasons, including 13 starts at linebacker in 2024. He made 76 tackles and had 6.5 sacks. The Manassas, Va., native will help to replace Brashear grad Ta’Mere Robinson, who transferred to Southern Cal earlier this offseason.
Peña, who made a verbal commitment last month, arrives in Happy Valley after a prolific start to his college career at Syracuse.
He broke out for the Orange this past season, racking up 941 yards on 84 receptions with nine total touchdowns in earning All-ACC honors.
Peña started out as a return specialist but will now be a featured receiver in his sixthyear at Penn State.
A late addition to the 2025 recruiting class is Daniel Jennings, a 6-2, 250-pound prospect who hails from Princeton, W.Va.
He was the No. 1 ranked player in West Virginia for the 2025 cycle and the No. 29 overall edge-rusher in the class.
Twenty-eight student-athletes have signed national letters of intent to join the Nittany Lions this offseason. Penn State signed 25 recruits who were rated four stars or higher by 247Sports, On3, ESPN or Rivals.
