Case partners with Appalachian Trail Conservancy on 100th anniversary knife
W.R. Case and Sons Cutlery Co., a leading American manufacturer of premium knives, announced on Tuesday its collaboration with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) to release a celebratory knife and gift tin set in honor of the organization’s 100th anniversary.
Case created a special edition Natural Bone Trapper knife with an embellished handle featuring the iconic A.T. diamond with “Appalachian Trail” and “Maine to Georgia” inscribed above and below the A.T. symbol. Covering the full cost of production, Case donated 250 gift sets in commemorative tins to the ATC, which will retain 100 percent of the proceeds to advance its mission to protect, manage and advocate for the Appalachian National Scenic Trail.
“We are proud to partner with Case Knives to release this limited-edition pocket knife in honor of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy’s 100th anniversary this year,” said ATC Chief Growth Officer Jeri Ward. “As the only non-profit devoted exclusively to the Appalachian Trail, the ATC ensures that it remains a place where everyone can connect with the transformative power of nature. This high-quality knife from Case is an important tool for outdoor adventures and a keepsake that gives back, helping to ensure the Appalachian Trail and its landscape are always protected, resilient and connected for all.”
Since 1925, the ATC has led the management and conservation of the world’s longest hiking-only footpath from Georgia to Maine. The Appalachian Trail was designated one of the first national scenic trails by the National Trails System Act of 1968 and today spans 2,197 miles, attracting millions of visitors annually. The nonprofit ATC coordinates the efforts of multiple partners — the National Park Service, USDA Forest Service, dozens of state agencies, 30 local trail-maintaining clubs and over 5,000 volunteers — to keep the Trail alive.
Winding through the rugged heart of Case Knives country and its rolling Pennsylvania hills, the Appalachian Trail embodies the same spirit of heritage, authenticity and adventure that has defined the American-made brand for over 135 years.
“Case Knives is proud to help recognize a treasured national resource like the Appalachian Trail,” said Brent Tyler, vice president of global marketing at Case, “as we share its enduring values with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and the outdoor community.”
The limited-edition knife set is available for $100 at ATCTrailStore.org and at the ATC’s Harpers Ferry Visitor Center and Damascus Trail Center.
