Tuesday’s primary election has some important choices facing voters.
While several candidates are running unopposed, others — like Bradford Area School Board — have twice as many candidates as there are positions to be filled.
In McKean County, there are four unopposed row offices, all sought by incumbent Republicans. Daniel Woods is seeking another term as sheriff, Vicky Madine as prothonotary, Jody Bloomquist as treasurer and Melissa Jo Smith as treasurer.
The second judgeship for the county is on the ballot, the only candidate for which is the already appointed Michele Alfieri-Causer, a Republican.
In the City of Bradford, Councilman Fred Proper didn’t seek re-election, opting instead to run for a seat on Bradford Area School Board. Seeking three 4-year terms on council are Republican incumbents Tim Pecora, Kristofer Goll and Terry Lopus. For one 2-year term, newcomer Mark Young, a Republican, is seeking the seat.
Also in the city, the position of controller has Michele Corignani as the sole candidate.
