Port Allegany, Kane record baseball wins
BASEBALL PORT ALLEGANY 10, COUDERSPORT 0 PORT ALLEGANY – Derek Smith doubled and had two RBIs while Levi Howard contributed two RBIs as Port Allegany claimed a victory Wednesday.
The Gators used a seven-run fifth inning to guarantee the tic in the win column.
Smith earned the mound win as well, striking out three and walking three while tossing a no-hitter.
On the mound for Coudersport was Mason Roessner, striking out three and walking four while giving up five hits.
KANE 17, NORTH CLARION 0 KANE — Brock Wensel’s grand slam to left field in the first inning set the tone, scoring four runs to key Kane’s win. Wensel also doubled in the fourth inning, driving in another three runs.
Also leading the Wolves were Isaiah Smith with a double and three RBIs and Keller Chamberlain with a double and two RBIs.
Preston Darr earned the mound win, striking out seven and walking one while giving up two hits.
On the mound for North Clarion was Ryan Pappas, who struck out none and walked four while giving up eight hits.
SOFTBALL PORT ALLEGANY 17, KANE 2 PORT ALLEGANY – The Lady Gators used a six-run second inning to set the stage for their Wednesday victory.
Leading Port Allegany at the plate were Alayna McKervey with a double and Sienna Lathrop with three RBIs.
Bria Wilcox earned the mound win, giving up one hit while striking out none and walking four.
On the mound for Kane was Kyleigh McGuire, who struck out one and walked four while surrendering nine hits.
Leading Kane was Adalyn Mix with a home run and two RBIs.
TUESDAY GAMES SOFTBALL BROOKVILLE 12, BRADFORD 0 Julie Greeley and Cassidy Sarvey each doubled to lead Brookville over Bradford.
On the mound for Brookville was Alyssa Tollini, who struck out four and walked one, giving up seven hits.
Daisy Greene took the loss for Bradford, striking out two and walking two while giving up nine hits.
Leading Bradford at the plate were Mackenzie Taylor and Greene, who each had two hits. BASEBALL KANE 19, SMETHPORT 1 SMETHPORT – Kane scored nine runs on two hits in the top of the sixth en route to their Tuesday win.
Leading Kane at the plate was Preston Darr, who went 2-for-5 with four RBIs.
Phinn Chamberlain earned the mound win, striking out 14 and walking one while giving up three hits.
On the mound for Smethport was Aiden Tanner, who struck out one and walked five while giving up two hits.
Zach Hungiville had two hits in three at bats for the Hubbers.
PORT ALLEGANY 15, JOHNSONBURG 1 JOHNSONBURG – Port Allegany scored five runs in the third and 10 in the fourth to sew up its Tuesday win.
Leading the Gators at the plate were Aiden Bliss with three RBIs and T Roys with four RBIs.
On the mound for Port Allegany were L Howard and J Causer, who combined to strike out six and walk five while giving up two hits.
Port Allegany’s Derek Smith pitches against Coudersport Wednesday. The Gators defeated the Falcons 10-0.
