Bradford Ecumenical Home hosts ‘As I Age’ wall
Each May, Older Americans Month is celebrated to recognize older Americans for their invaluable contributions and ongoing influence in our communities.
This year’s theme, “Flip the Script,” invites everyone to challenge outdated narratives and redefine what it means to age.
“Bradford Ecumenical Home Inc. is offering an array of activities throughout the entire month of May. These events and special gatherings bring older adults together with others in our community to learn, socialize, and celebrate in honor of Older Americans Month,” stated Lisa Johnson, CEO. “For the tenth year, our ‘As I Age’ Wall is on display at Bradford Ecumenical Home. We welcome everyone — residents, family, and community members — to stop by, pick up a piece of chalk, and complete the sentence ‘As I Age…’ It’s a simple yet powerful way to reflect, share and inspire.”
Join in celebrating Older Americans Month by rethinking aging — together, everyone can ensure that all older adults feel valued, included and empowered. Honor and amplify their voices not just this month, but every day.
Led by the Administration for Community Living’s Administration on Aging, the national observance promotes a new perspective on aging, one that recognizes the vital role older adults play in shaping the future. Across the country, older Americans are transforming the way society sees aging. They are staying active, mentoring younger generations, volunteering, leading, aging.
