Triple, Double winners recognized at NTL Track & Field Championships
SMETHPORT — The NTL Track & Field Championships held Friday in Smethport. Otto-Eldred’s Ray’shene Thomas broke the NTL meet record in triple jump with a jump of 45’5”.
Triple winners included Northern Potter’s Noah Sherman (100, 400, 800), Coudersport’s Connor VanWagenen (400 relay, 1600 relay, High Jump), Port Allegany’s Isla Lehmier (1600, 800, 1600 relay) and Port Allegany’s Lily Lehmier (300 Hurdles, 400 relay, 1600 relay).
Double winners included the following competitors:
■ Coudersport: Kaden Bova (4×100, 4×400), Parker Sherry (Javelin, 4×400), Macie Popchak (200, 400),
■ Oswayo Valley: Andrew Coriaty (4×800, 1600)
■ Otto-Eldred: Ray’shene Thomas (Long Jump, Triple Jump),
■ Port Allegany: Ethan Tarbox (Shot Put, Discus), Alyssa Pelchy (400 relay, 1600 relay), Kylee Pelchy (400 relay, 1600 relay)
■ Smethport: Madey McKean (High Jump, Pole Vault) The following athletes were recognized via selection by the league’s coaches:
■ Outstanding Male Track Athlete: Noah Sherman (Northern Potter)
■ Outstanding Female Track Athlete: Isla Lehmier (Port Allegany)
■ Outstanding Male Field Athlete: Ethan Tarbox (Port Allegany)
