Kane splits softball DH; Port Allegany outscores Cameron County

SOFTBALL DCC 16, KANE 0 Kane 11, Forest Area 1 KANE — Kane split a home doubleheader, defeating Forest Area and losing to DCC Thursday in high school softball action.
In Game 1, DCC defeated Kane 16-0.
Rylee Kulbatsky earned the mound win, striking out 14 and walking one while pitching a no-hitter.
Olivia Bell was on the mound for Kane, striking out three and walking nine while giving up eight hits.
In Game 2, Kane outscored Forest Area, 11-1 in
five innings. Kyleigh McGuire earned the mound win, striking out one and walking three while giving up one hit.
Leading Kane at the plate were Lexi Mulcahy, who went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Sara Ely went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Macy Bell, who went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Abigail Mix, who went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Kyleigh McGuire, who went 1-for-3 with a double.
On the mound for Forest Area was M. Mellon, who struck out five and walked five and giving up nine hits.
The Lady Wolves return to action Monday in a doubleheader against ECC in St. Marys. Game 1 begins at 3 p.m.
PORT ALLEGANY 25, CAMERON COUNTY 7 EMPORIUM — Port Allegany used a 10-run third inning (scoring on three hits) to take the lead and maintained it through the final inning Thursday.
Leading Port A. at the plate were Bria Wilcox with a double and five RBIs, Alyssa Tanner (3-for-5) and Joanna Darush, with two hits in three at bats.
On the mound for the Lady Gators was Wilcox, who struck out seven and walked two, throwing a no-hitter.
Suffering the mound loss was Hailey McAuley, who struck out two and walked nine while giving up nine hits.
OSWAYO VALLEY 9, COUDERSPORT 8 SHINGLEHOUSE — Lauren Hedges had two RBIs to lead OV Thursday.
Eva West earned the mound win, striking out 14, walking nine, and giving up seven hits.
Leading Coudersport at the plate was Laura Dunn, who went 3-for-5 and had 3 RBIs.
On the mound for the Lady Falcons was Hannah Fleniken, who struck out one and walked seven while giving up zero hits. Aubri Lagrua pitched five innings of relief, striking out one and walking eight while giving up five hits. BASEBALL YOUNGSVILLE 10, OSWAYO VALLEY 8 YOUNGSVILLE — Cole Johnson was 3-for-4 and Talon Mesel went 1-for-3 with two RBIs to lead Youngsville.
Braydon Baker earned the mound win, striking out 10 and walking two while surrendering five hits.
Luke Karr was on the mound for OV, striking out four and walking two while giving up six hits.
Isaiah Goode collected three hits in four at bats to lead OV.
COUDERSPORT 12, JOHNSONBURG 2 JOHNSONBURG — Lawson Wetzel went 2-for-3 and had RBIs to lead Coudersport in Thursday’s win.
On the mound for Coudersport was Mitchell Taylor, who struck out five and walked two while giving up five hits.
Suffering the mound loss was Frank Miller, who struck out three and walked five, giving up six hits as well.
Leading Johnsonburg at the plate was Josh Amacher, who had two hits in two at bats.
