Eagles post scholarship winners
r Bradford Fraternal Order of Eagles 2432 announced its 2025 scholarship winners are Ethan Rochna and Evan Confer, both students at Bradford Area High School.
Rochna has been involved for four years with Concert Band, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Pit Orchestra and Marching Band. For three years he qualified for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District and Region band festivals, and served two years as brass captain. He has been a two-time allstate selection.
He earned a spot with the District and Region choir festivals as well as the Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) All-East Festival. Rochna is the 2025 winner of the John Philip Sousa Band Award.
Outside of school, he works at Burger King and is a member of the Twin Tiers Community Band.
Rochna plans to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania, majoring in music performance. His long-term goal is to join the U.S. Army Band, with hopes of becoming part of ‘Pershing’s Own,’ the army’s premier band.
Confer has been involved with local youth hockey for 13 years, Little League for 6 years, Bradford United Soccer for three years, and participated in the Willow Creek Triathlon for 5 years.
Outside of school, Confer conducted a supply drive for the Erie VA Medical Center and works at Bradford Ecumenical Home.
He will attend the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, majoring in secondary education with a concentration in history. His long-term goal is to become a history teacher and give back to his community.
