Pirates, Cubs notch victories
PIRATES 13, BRADFORD RED 6 Bradford Pirates (sponsored by Graves Barbershop) defeated Bradford Red (sponsored by Safelite) 13-6 Wednesday.
Leading the Pirates were Michael Ferchak, who drove in four runs on three hits, Jameis Furlong (double, 1 RBI), Frankie Grassi (2 RBI double) and Brody Yohe, Thomas Ford, Roman Kuhn, all with RBI singles.
Sharing the mound for the Pirates were Andrew Wright Jr. and Braxton Parslow, who combined to strike out 12.
For Bradford Red, Brock Crappio, had a double and 2 RBIs, while Cole Smith had two singles and an RBI and Griffin Atteberry smacked an RBI single. On the mound for the Reds were Elijah Lewis and Will Pantuso, who combined to strike out eight.
SHERK’S LANDSCAPING CUBS 7, KOA INDIANS 0 For Sherk’s Landscaping, Blake Sherk went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, Gary Reid III went 2-for-2 with an RBI, Dremonte Skaggs was 3-for-3 on the night with a double and an RBI, Gage Peranio went 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Emmett Speaker was 2-for-2 with a double and 3 RBIs.
Speaker and Reid were on the mound, combining for 8 strikeouts.
For KOA, Brecken Placer and Brody Esch singled.
Placer, Esch, Beau Havers, and Cole Hossfeld shared the mound and had 5 strikeouts.
MACHINE PITCH SOFTBALL TAYLOR ROOFING BRADFORD 2 6, OTTO-ELDRED 0 Leading Bradford 2 were Alexis Wells, who went 3-for-5 with 1 RBI, Vanessa Snodgrass (3-for 5 with 1 RBI), Emma Webster (2-for-5), Harper Willard (4-for-5), Bella Leo (2-for-5 with 1 RBI), Alivia Rathbun (4-for-5), Izzy Tremblay (3-for-5 with 2 RBIs) and Adrian Taylor (3-for-5 with 1 RBI).
ARG 4, OTTO 3 Callahan Park — Team ARG won their second game of the season at home, hosting Otto in a competitive machine pitch matchup. ARG came out on top with a 4-3 victory, but both teams impressed with strong performances at the plate.
Sawyer Priest, Ryan Breese, Liam Bell, and Cooper Smolak each had two hits with Breese scoring two runs and Priest and Bell each crossing home one time.
Easton Groce, Kaivan Dynda, Zeke Foster, Oliver Hopkins, and Michael Mascho added a hit a piece.
For Otto, Alexavier Fisher hit two triples and scored twice. Ty Tanner added the other run for Otto.
Both teams are back in action next Wednesday night.
